Court Decision Made Final for Beanie

Beaniesigel3
It's finalized...Beanie Sigel was sentenced to a year in prison for the April 2003 incident of gun and drug posession; not to mention the high speed chase and foot pursuit he put the police through. He's also been given two years probation and hit up with a $25,000 fine.

Beanie's gone through a lot this past year and a half; going through rehab and also going through therapy to surpass his drug addiction which he has had since the age of 14. Sigel's sentence was actually lenient due to his past therapy and rehabilitation in Hazeldon Clinic in Minnesota. Judge R. Barclay Surrick gave Beanie the sentence after close consideration to Sigels' charitable efforts and thorough completion of rehab.

Damon Dash: Embarking in the Electronics Industry

G_id509fid4
So the word is that hip hop mogul Damon Dash is now set to embark on the electronics industry. First, it was ROC-A-FELLA Records, then it was Roca-Wear clothing line, and don't forget the liquor, Armadale Vodka, ...and now it's the technological industry of ROC Digital. Damon Dash is introducing the first product of ROC Digital, the RocBox in November 2004. But, in a field where the new Apple iPod rules all, how will this ROC product be ROC solid? "We are not trying to be the iPod...in the digital music player market, there was not a brand that focused on the urban demographic. A lot of people buy products to showcase who they are and the lifestyle they are living" ~quotes Damon Dash in an interview to reuters.com.

So, let's give it up to the people trying to represent those trying to live the lifestyle of being hip hop. Just like Miskeen, we're not trying to be anything else, we're just trying to represent the lifestyle of hip hop.

To learn more about the new RocBox, check out the following website below...and don't forget, hip hop isn't just music baby, it's lifestyle!!

Miskeen Unleashed: Monthly Mogul Debut

Hip Hop is no longer strictly an underground scene. It's been the core source for millions in revenue for big name entrepreneurs such as P. Diddy and Russell Simmons. Hip Hop is at a new level and the money has made many moguls from the East, West, and even down South. Some big entrepreneurs are Sean Combs, Russell Simmons, and Jermaine Dupri to name a few. Miskeen Unleashed will now give you Monthly Mogul updates to keep you posted on the biggest players in the Hip Hop game. We want to keep you, our dear readers, educated and inspired!

Simmons and P. Diddy are reported to be in talks with MTV for a new reality show tentatively titled "Simmons Inc: The First Family of Hip Hop." This will be the second reality show for P. Diddy and the first of it's kind for the Simmons family. The theme of the show is set to be along the same lines as reality show "The Osbornes."

Reality TV seems to be the hottest trend for almost guaranteed high TV ratings. Let's see if the show will mean yet another chart topping hit for these Hip Hop Moguls!
Jermaine

Speaking of Hip Hop Moguls...Our friend from the dirty south, Jermaine Dupri is constantly keepin' the South bumpin' with his strong So So Def empire. He plans to open a 24-hour eatery in Atlanta called "Def Cafe." Not sure what type of food will be offered, but if we're lucky it will be some the good ol' down south comfort food! Also in the works is a TV show that Dupri claims will be his version of "Life Styles of the Rich and Famous." And he doesn't stop here! Dupri is also testing the waters of the toy world! He's creating small replicas of himself and other So So Def artists such as Da Brat and Bone Crusher. Hmm...Isn't Mr. Jermaine Dupri short enough already? Who needs a mini version???

It's good to be ...a Mogul! That's a wrap people! Our monthly mogul update on our favorite hip hop moguls ends here. Stay tuned for next month's Miskeen Unleashed Monthly Mogul entry for more of who's doing what in the Hip Hop bizz!
